Choosing a hostel in Athens

In Athens there are good standard hostels, many of them are situated in the northern area of the city centre, near Larisi and Peloponnisou Athina train stations. Not all hostels are associated with the International Youth Hostels Association and therefore they don't allow you to use the cards to get discounts.

Hostels in Athens are very different from each other, tourists are generally housed in 4 or 8 bed rooms, but smaller rooms with private bathroom are still available. Often hostels are not equipped with heating or air conditioning, indeed, during the summer season, they put fans at guests' disposal. Bathrooms are generally shared between 8-10 people, breakfast is not provided in most of hostels, while luggage storage is generally free. The average price for a hostel in Athens varies between 10-12 Euros for dorms with 8-10 beds, and 18-25 Euros for a double room. The majority of hostels accept payment by credit card.
